NWMT Serving In Their Communities

For the second year in a row, NeighborWorks Montana staff set aside a day in December to serve the communities where they live and work. Giving back locally matters—it strengthens connections, deepens understanding of community needs, and reminds us that strong communities are built through shared effort and care. This day of service was a meaningful opportunity for teamwork, reflection, and impact beyond our daily work.

Across the state, staff rolled up their sleeves to support essential community organizations.

  • In Kalispell, Danielle, Naomi, Rachel, Brooke, and Sarah cleaned rooms at the Samaritan House.
  • In Helena, Adam and Maggie volunteered at the YWCA, helping them prepare the center for the holidays.
  • Vickie, our staff member in Washington, created and mailed cards for kids in the hospital through Letters of Love. She also wrote a letter for soldiers deployed through Operation Gratitude.
  • Rebecca and Emily volunteered at the Livingston Warming Center, cleaning and organizing. This shelter is provided by HRDC Bozeman.
  • The Great Falls crew (Larry, Lori, Matt, and Michelle) lent a hand at Fresh Rescue Community Kitchen, making food and bags for the homeless who receive services from the Angel Room, a program of St. Vincent’s de Paul.
  • Missoula’s team (Kaia, Tyler, Hanna, and Molly) worked at the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. They put together boxes for the Roots program which is a food program for seniors. They also repackaged bulk items including dog food, cat food, and rice.

We’re proud of our team’s commitment to service and grateful for the organizations that do this vital work year-round.
