STEP 1: Homebuyer education. Did you know educated homeowners are 33% less likely to foreclose? NeighborWorks Montana has a network of partners across the state, offering classes on all aspects of homeownership including:
• Assessing readiness to buy a home
• Budgeting and credit
• Financing a home
• Selecting a home
• Maintaining a home and finances
• Financial resources
Plus, completion of a certified homebuyer education class is required to utilize many specialized loan products, including NeighborWorks Montana. All services meet HUD requirements and are provided by National Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling Certified educators.

For aspiring homeowners, many organizations also offer one-on-one counseling in-person, over the phone, and virtually. Find an organization near you to learn more about the services they offer, register for a class, and schedule a counseling session.
