A Year of Building Skills & Community

It’s been an incredible year of learning, connection, and community for ROC residents across Montana. NeighborWorks Montana hosted three resident-driven trainings, each shaped by feedback from residents about what their communities need most.

Disaster Preparedness

Laura Royer traveled from Florida to lead trainings in four regions, teaching residents how to prepare for frozen pipes, floods, wind, and fire. Each session was followed by a ROCKET course, where teams of residents developed their own Community Disaster Preparedness Plans.

Conflict Resolution

This fall, authors CrisMarie Campbell and Susan B. Clarke led full-day sessions in Kalispell and Livingston, guiding residents through managing stress, communicating effectively, and resolving conflict through hands-on practice and real-life scenarios.

Cooperative Leadership

In partnership with the Montana Cooperative Development Center (MCDC), Executive Director Tracy McIntyre led a training focused on cooperative principles, running engaging meetings, encouraging teamwork, and understanding the appropriate use of executive sessions.

Designed with resident input and grounded in real experience, these trainings equip ROCs with the skills and confidence to strengthen their communities and sustain success for years to come.
