Homeword Home Buyer Education Classes

Homeword's homebuyer class is a nationally certified 11-hour class, which provides individuals and families comprehensive information covering the basics of the home-buying process. Online registration opens approximately one month prior to beginning date of class. If you have any questions, or for a paper registration form call Holly Klier at (406) 532-4663 x10.

Free child care vouchers at Busy Hands Fun Center are available for class registrants once registration fee is paid.

There is a $20 per person/$35 per household, non-refundable, registration fee to cover the cost of materials. A $25 returned check fee, payable to Homeword, will be charged for all returned checks, in addition to any bank fees.

Financial Fitness Course

Are your finances controlling you? Attend Homeword’s “Financial Fitness” course to learn how to manage your money!

Financial Fitness is a nationally-certified personal financial management course for adults.  Homeword is offering a 9 hour Financial Fitness workshop monthly.  Participants will learn how to set financial goals, create budgets and savings plans, understand credit reports, make smart borrowing choices, manage debt, make intelligent insurance and tax choices, and avoid financial pitfalls. Classes fill up quickly so register early!

Dollars and Sense
This class is about basic Financial Education, and is organized by RDI-Consumer Credit Counseling Service Dollars and Sense classes are the next step in financial freedom. These classes offer a toolkit for financial success. The four part series includes:

- Understanding Credit and Credit Reports
- Making Budgeting Works with Your Schedule
- Predatory Lending and Identity Theft Insurance
- Financial Institutions and Taxes

Participants must complete all four parts to graduate the series. Some local partners are offering incentives for participants to graduate, that include partcipation in Individual Development Account (IDA) programs for education/training or homeownership.

Classes are sponsored by NeighborWorks Montana and are free to participants.
